Chicago Area Photo Shows“War Correspondent in Viet Nam with a Camera”
This November, the Village of Westchester, Westchester Chamber of Commerce and Westchester Park District will be hosting the Vietnam Veterans “Moving Wall” in Mayfair Park, November 5-9, 2009. The “Moving Wall” is a half sized replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington, DC. To help launch this special exhibit, the Westchester Public Library has invited photographer Roger Mattingly to speak at Mayfair Park on opening night, Thursday, November 5. Roger Mattingly served as an Army publications photographer from 1970-71 and will share his photographs and experiences as a photojournalist during the war. His program, “War Correspondent in Viet Nam With a Camera” will be held Thursday evening, November 5 at 7:00 pm in Mayfair Park, located at 10835 Wakefield Street in Westchester. (Mayfair Park is just west of the intersection of Wakefield Street and Mayfair Avenue, north of 31st Street.)
The program is free of charge and open to the public. Patrons with disabilities are asked to call (562-3573 or TDD 562-9364), visit or write the Library to discuss the accommodations at least 5 working days prior to the scheduled program.
