This web site sponsored by: | Photographer's RightsOver a recent weekend I was taking pictures of an old barn in rural Wisconsin. A lady drove up and began to berate me for photographing "her" property. She insisted I had no right to take pictures without her permission. This led me to ask myself "do I"? I did some research and am providing links to articles about this. I strongly recommend you read these, and in the case of the information by Bert P. Krages II, Attorney at Law, keep a copy of his article with you when shooting. The bottom line? With a few exceptions, yes you have the right to take pictures from a public location of almost anything, without permission. The major limitation is that these cannot be used for commercial work.
