| President's MessageOctober, 2012Welcome!As President of Salt Creek Camera Club it is my pleasure to welcome you to our “family.” SCCC Has a long history going back over 50 years. It was originally founded as a slide competition club, but over the years we have transitioned to where we currently do only prints and digital projected images.Our members have a tremendous amount of personal knowledge and experience. We believe sharing this knowledge is the most important function of a camera club. With this in mind we try to offer educational programs and workshops, as well as member led outings to local locations. New members, whether you are new to photography as a hobby or an experience photographer looking for an outlet for your talent, are encouraged to participate in these programs. One of the benefits of membership is that you will also have access to other educational programs offered by other clubs and organizations.Once you have made the decision to enter into the competitions, we hope you will use this as an opportunity to improve your skills. While we all enjoy the feeling of having entered a winning image, the judge’s comments are often the genesis for working to improve your photography. As a member of SCCC you will also have access to other competitions, including the Chicago Area Camera Club Association’s individual competitions.Please take time to talk with other members – exchange thoughts, ideas, knowledge and personal experiences.
